How to Buy an Interval Fund
Purchasing an interval fund at Charles Schwab is a straightforward process. Follow these step-by-step instructions to make your investment:
- Link Your Schwab Account
Your first step is to link your Charles Schwab brokerage account to Treeview Capital. This is the essential first step to gaining access to and purchasing our listed interval funds. - Research Funds
Browse the available interval funds on our Fund List or Recommendations pages. For high-level information, review the Fund Detail page on our site. For in-depth research, follow the provided link to the fund's official website. - Access the Trade Screen
Log in to your Charles Schwab account, either on their website or mobile app.
On the Website: Navigate to the "Trade" tab at the top of the page, then select "Stocks & ETFs" from the dropdown menu.
On the Mobile App: Tap the "Trade" button at the bottom of the screen, then select "Stocks & ETFs." - Place Your Order
Complete the order form with these details:
Account: Select the Schwab account you previously linked to Treeview Capital.
Symbol: Enter the ticker symbol for your chosen interval fund. The fund name will automatically populate.
Action: Select "Buy."
Amount: Enter the dollar amount you wish to purchase. Make sure you have the available cash in your account.
Distributions: Choose whether you would like to automatically re-invest the fund's distributions or receive the cash.
Transaction Fee: Decide whether you want Schwab's transaction fee to be added to your total or deducted from your total investment amount (if applicable) - Review and Submit
Click "Review Order" to carefully check all the details, including the fund name, investment amount, and account. When everything looks correct, click "Place Order". - Understand the Order Timeline
Your order will be processed once the markets close. If you place your order before 4:00 PM EST (1:00 PM PST) on a day when the markets are open, it will be processed after the close on that same day. If you place your order after the markets have closed, it will be processed after the close of the next business day.
